About Buddy

Needs: ��%BD'� Adult Home. Meet loyal and adorable Buddy, an 8 year old, 20 lb Maltese who will steal your heart! Buddy's lovable nature and cheerful charisma is unlike any other. He has a warm and open heart, and is the type of dog who immediately falls in love with his humans and wants to be everyone's best friend. Day in and day out, Buddy will always be there by your side to keep you company. He's a love with humans, and is also very easygoing with other dogs, and instantly found a spot on the sofa alongside his foster family's little dogs. On walks, Buddy shows his playful and adventurous side. He loves to explore his environment, sniff around, and run through the grass. Though he has a little extra weight on at the moment, he doesn't let that slow him down. After a long day, Buddy's favorite thing to do is cuddle (he loves fuzzy blankets) and get endless belly rubs. One of the most admirable features about Buddy is that he has a smile that can make the worst of days better. He's always smiling, but especially when he sees his humans. Buddy is a total lovebug, always ready to shower you with love and kisses. Please note that Buddy has hip dysplasia and arthritis in both of his hips. He also has mild luxating patellas (kneecaps) and toes that hyperextend slightly on his back feet. He gets around well and is on a joint supplement and anti-inflammatory, both of which have helped. We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you.
