Nate is a delightful dog; He's a great size, cute, friendly and smart. He's a lab stuck in a terrier's body.%A0 He has lab ears and terrier eyes.%A0 We only had him four days, but he learned many commands, such as: SitStayWait (on walks we use this at intersections) Release (to let go of his toy or ball so I can throw it again) Down (he didn't know this one at all buy on day four knew it) He knows how to use a dog door. I didn't teach him. He had to know previously how to use it because he just walked right through it the first time he saw it He loves to walk; we walked 1 1/2 miles each morning, then a short walk each evening; he's great on a leash; doesn't pull but does zig-zag; Not leash reactive at all; wagged his tail when he saw dogs; a small dog ran up to us and he was friendly Played great with my dog; they wore each other out!%A0 And that meant he came inside and slept.%A0Very well behaved in the home; didn't chew on anything but once bored, he did pick up little things to chew on as most young dogs do; house broken and will let you know when he needs to go out.He is young and it's obvious he will do great when his life is stable; he wanted to get on the couch but for discipline, I would not let him. He will listen to commands that his person gives him For a young dog, he is surprisingly disciplined.%A0 He needs a strong owner to keep the terrier from taking over. FOOD REACTIVE:%A0 This is his only issue. He gets over stimulated over food and will go after another dog he perceives is competition. I fed him separately from my dog; Nate ate in his crate.%A0 NOTE: I could have both dogs sit in front of me for treats and they did fine but it was important to move them out of the kitchen afterward because he associated the kitchen with treats.%A0 ALSO, he took one treat outside to bury it.%A0 Thankfully I watched him and went out immediately to get it.%A0 As expected,, when my dog went near where he buried the treat, Nate went after him (my dog doesn't engage). I had to show Nate that I was moving the treat or this would have been an ongoing issue. Loves car rides; Will jump in the back seat and is ready to go wherever. JUMPY He will jump up on you; he will learn easily not to with consistent corrections, but be aware of this with children. Treats:If he's the only dog he takes treats gently; but due to his food reactivity, care should be given if kids are around because he can grab. We practiced taking them nicely using the word 'easy' LOVES TO SNUGGLE. Really. It's nice LOVES TO GIVE KISSES Nate is 40 pounds
