About China

China is a 9 year old, 9 pound Chihuahua who was owner surrendered to us from a not so good situation. We picked her up from a crate that had been put outside in a yard on a cold winter's night. She was very scared but has come so far since she has been in rescue and is looking for a new home of her very own now! When she first came in she was afraid of everyone and was very snippy until she trusted you. Now she has learned how to be loved and love someone back! When China loves you she will love you forever. She is a little wary of new people and strange situations but has made huge strides in her social skills. Her foster mom has noticed her interacting with new people more every day. If she jumps up in your lap then you know she has accepted you. She also can be bribed with treats! When she relaxes with you she is the sweetest girl who just wants to be loved! China absolutely loves to be in your lap and rolls over for belly rubs. She wants to be near you, seeks affection, and wants to be in your lap all day long. She is fine with other dogs, but she does want her foster mom's attention most. She has become quite the player now. It has been a joy watching her learn to relax and enjoy her life. China would be happy as an only dog because she loves to be the center of attention. She walks well on a leash, is house trained and loves to sleep under the covers right next to her person in the big bed at night. She is not good with cats or kids and a home with small kids is a no. She would be a great dog for a senior that wants a loving companion. China is up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped with a lifetime registration. She is has had a dental. She is heartworm positive and is about half way through her treatment. The treatment is a once a month dose of Ivermectin for 12 months. At the end of the 12 months she will be retested. If she is still positive, we will provide another 6 months of Ivermectin and retest at the end of the 6 months. This will continue until she tests negative. The rescue supplies the medicine and pays for the tests until the heartworms are gone! China is a beautiful little girl who really deserves a person who will give her lots of love for the rest of her life!
