Chief was rescued by us in 2016. He was surrendered to the humane society for unknown reasons. He loves to cuddle up on the couch and eat carrot sticks. While he is 90% lap dog and sweetheart, he has food aggression and random acts of aggression. Chief has a history of attacking us mostly unprovoked and when someone is too close to his food. We have discussed this issue with our vet multiple times and she has ruled out any medical issues and thinks his behavior is due to a history of abuse. He is not meant to be in a home with small children and will bite without warning. His unpredictable behavior has resulted in him being locked in a separate room or outside while we are home with our toddler. Since living with us, he has gotten along with our two cats and is mostly submissive to other dogs. We love him dearly but he deserves a home that he is free to roam and feel like a real family member.
