Meet FRED, a gorgeous 18-month-old, 50LB cur/pit mix recently rescued by Lulus. He was found as a stray and brought to a local pet resort by a client. They took him in and cared for him, vetted him, set him up with a trainer and boarded him then reached out to us in the hopes that we could help him find a great forever home. This is what they share about Fred: 'Fred is so sweet, and is great with people. He is one of the sweetest dogs we have come in contact with here and he loves everybody he meets. He is a bit jumpy and loves to play tug of war. His favorite toys are anything that squeaks and any ball he can find. While Fred is super sweet and adores everyone, he will need to be with a more experienced guardian. He is very strong and loves to play all the time! He tends to be mouthy with his playstyle but he has never bitten anybody while under our care and he has never acted aggressively towards any of our staff! He loves to be on your lap and chew on his toys. He walks extremely well on a harness and he loves greeting everyone he walks by. He looooovvvvveeeesss to run around with his ball in the play yard and sit on your lap while chewing it! One time he had 3 tennis balls in his mouth at once and was running around like a crazy boy! He also loves exploring outside on walks! He never pulls when he's walking and just wants to sniff around everywhere. He was a stray up until a few months ago so his command knowledge is limited but he knows sit and leave it. He eats very well and needs a lot of food to maintain his weight! (he is a very muscular boy!) He loves to give hugs and kisses and he loves to get up close and personal with you. He is absolutely a lover and would do great in a home because he just pours out his heart to everybody who meets him. I am going to miss this sweet boy.' FRED was not socialized with other dogs and he would do best as an only pet, soaking up all your love and attention for himself. He is a smart pup, highly trainable, crate and leash trained and learning good house manners. FRED is neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. The adoption fee is $400. Visit our website WWW.LULUSRESCUE.ORG for an overview of Lulu's Rescue adoption and foster processes. Please note that training is highly recommended for all dogs. As with all rescue animals, breed determination cannot be validated without genetic testing. Thanks for adopting and saving a life -- you are FRED'S hero.
