About Gunner

Give him a chance, give this a read, he may be the best dog you've ever had. Gunner is 10 months and around 50 lbs. totally potty trained, quiet in crate, and non-destructive at his foster home! He's likely a border collie/ pit mix and very healthy for a former shelter dog. He's strong, ideal weight, his coat is shiny, his eyes and ears are clear, and teeth are pearly white. He's got the velvety hair of a pit and that sweet smile, but the long legs making him very agile and destined to be an amazing running partner, lean body, and size of a border collie (50lbs). He's a playful pup but only in spurts. It's easy to forget he's only 10 months old because he's totally house/crate trained and hasn't tried to chew anything. He is a people follower. He sweetly, gently, moves to wherever we are in the house and finds a spot for himself. He cracks me up in the mornings, watching me get ready for work from the hallway. He lays next to the sofa when we're watching TV and does the same when I'm cooking in the kitchen. HE LOVES TO PLAY with our other dogs. He especially loves playing with my big pit bull, Sugar. They play SO HARD until they zonk out. He is sweet with our little old lady dachshunds (10 and 11 years old), which is generous of him because they are cranky old bitty's and only growl and snap at him. Bad dogs! lol. He's absolutely non-aggressive/dominant except he cannot be in a home with cats. He's only 10 months old but smart and will be amazingly receptive to advanced leash training, basic commands training and working through his skittishness. He would also be a dog receptive to agility training if his adopter wanted to do this with him as a hobby. He's going to be ideal with either a young couple without little kids just yet, a family with kids old enough to interact with a playful 50lb pup, a single active person, or older couple who are active and spend time outdoors. He's neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines and worming. Please give Gunner a chance. You will not be disappointed! He is special.
