About Howie

Howie is a handsome, confident and friendly German Shepherd/ Lab pup who loves everyone he meets. At 13 weeks old, this 15 lb cutie is already making great progress with his house training, and sleeps through the night in his crate. He has a mostly black lab face, with a few touches of tan, and he has the most amazing (big) paws- they look like they've been hand-painted. Howie is having a great time being fostered in a home with three dog-savvy young boys ( ages 8,10 and 14) his sister Hannah and a wonderful mentor dog. He absolutely loves playing with the boys, enjoys wrestling with his sister and bounding around the yard. Howie is entering a developmental stage where he will be exploring the world with his mouth, so would do best in a home with children 6+ so they are able to redirect him appropriately. When he's tuckered out, he will happily settle in for a snuggle. He loves all kinds of toys, and figures out how things work quickly. A curious soul, he loves to putter around the house and see what everybody is up to. Fun-loving Howie is a smart and joyful boy, who would be thrilled to become a member of an active family. Howie is a large, active breed mix who will need an active home with a yard, and is not suited to apartment living. He will require plenty of exercise, stimulation, training, and socialization for many months to come in order to help him on his journey to becoming a well-socialized, well-mannered boy. We estimate this sweet boy will be 50-70 lbs when full grown.
