TO BE KILLED 1/28/20 BABY STARFISH (3 We don't know where the name came from but we know she loves toys and some good company. That's evident in her video. Baby Starfish is enjoying her time outside of that cramped kennel, hanging out with the awesome volunteers and enjoying a game of fetch. She came into the shelter as a stray so not much is known about her but like all dogs abandoned by their families Baby Starfish needs a second chance in a good home, and time to learn to love and trust again. An experienced dog lover willing to give her the time and attention she needs would be an awesome start to the new year for Baby Starfish. Baby starfish is starting to warm up to people and other dogs , she is just scared at the shelter . Please call or text Kat 516 4573678 .ASAP ! Look on NY must love dogs on FB to see how sweet Baby Starfish is in her videos , the ACC will kill her tomorrow if we don't get a placement ! Foster or adoptee to save this sweet beauty !Please help us share her for that chance. BABY STARFISH@BROOKLYN ACC Hello, my name is Baby Starfish My animal id is #85639 I am a female black dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old, 52 lbs Came into shelter as a stray 1/7/2020 Baby Starfish is rescue only Baby starfish was placed at risk due to behavioral concerns; Due to Baby Starfish's very high level of fear combined with her propensity to escalate quickly to hard barking and growling, we do not feel she is a suitable candidate for public adoption at this time. The behavior department recommends placement with an experienced rescue partner who can safely and appropriately manage her behavior and reassess before placement into a permanent home environment. Baby starfish is otherwise healthy. My medical notes are... Weight: 52 lbs Vet Notes 1/8/2020 DVM Intake Exam Assessment: Apparently healthy Prognosis excellent Behavior History Behavior Assessment Upon intake behavior Baby Starfish allowed one counselor to leash. Once taken into the dog room she was offered treats but did not show any interest. Upon approach Baby Starfish displayed a hard stare and low growled at second counselor when she attempted to collar her. Second counselor backed away, showed her a toy and placed it in cage.
