About Hank

German Shepherd / Lab
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

*** ADOPTION PENDING *** Meet hunky, happy-go-lucky Hank! He is a sweet, affectionate and playful 24 lb German Shepherd/ Lab mix puppy born November 2nd, 2019 who loves ( in no particular order ) toys, humans, snow, his foster brother, and is a total ham for the camera. Hank loves being a mini-me, and is learning a lot from his (very) big foster brother Murray every day. He clearly loves other dogs but is also wonderful with people of all ages, and is also able to amuse himself playing with his toys and clambering around on his chunky puppy legs. Hank was amazed and thrilled to see snow for the first time, and bounded around in the yard, catching it on his tongue. Although only few months old, he is a bright boy who is already figuring out the inside world, sleeping through the night in his crate and learning the routines of his foster home. This lovable sweetheart is happy to play, and also very content to snuggle in your arms. Hank has some congenital abnormalities in his right eye, which may impact his vision on that side a bit but you would never know it. He fetches balls, runs in the woods, plays with people and with toys like every other puppy, and his daily life is not affected at all. Happy Hank is hoping to find his forever family who he can grow with. Hank is a large, active breed mix who will need an active home with a yard, and is not suited to apartment living. Hank likes playing with children, and is at a developmental stage where he explores the world with his mouth, so would do best in a home with children 6+. He will require plenty of exercise, stimulation, training, and socialization for many months to come in order to help him become a well-socialized, well-mannered guy. We estimate Hank will be 60-80 lbs when full grown. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here:(https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
