About Elise

May we have the pleasure of introducing our darling ELISE! Found as a stray, we consider it a miracle that ELISE was able to navigate a journey safely with visual challenges. Later found by a Good Samaritan, Elise was taken to the nearest animal shelter. All alerts were put out to social media and local veterinary offices for anyone missing a blind Dachshund. Her owner was never found. We had a lot to do here at Schultz Senior Dachshund Sanctuary, upon her arrival from that shelter to the safety and protection of our rescue group. Our very experienced foster home made sure to address ELISE's veterinary as well as emotional concerns. We offered her a temporary home setting that provided for all of her needs, to bring her peace and contentment. We are looking for a very special person to do the same. Due to her special circumstances, we are seeking someone who is home more than not, experienced with the breed, and willing to leash-walk. Veterinary references and a home visit prior to placement will be required. Central NJ/Eastern PA applicants need only apply. The foster family would like to be a part of this adoption process, and hopes to continue to offer its support to ELISE during her adjustment period.
