About Louie

Adoption Fee: 180.00
Jack Russell mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Louie This story is a heartbreaker. The whole family is in transition and all are suffering. Due to insurmountable health issues, this sweet elderly couple is having to move to an assisted living facility. Unfortunately, because the facility doesn't allow dogs, they are being forced to surrender their beloved dog, Louie. Our hope is to find Louie his forever home before they move so Louie won't have to come into the shelter. Louie will hate the noise of the shelter and he'd suffer for it. Louie has been so loved in his life by his paw parents. They dote on little Louie. He's the light of their life. For his part Louie is a great little dog. He's a Jack Russell mix between five and six years old. He's a handsome boy with laughing eyes. He's full of personality! He's smart, super sweet, cuddly, out-going and personable. Like most Jacks he has a mischievous and silly side. He's house-trained and crate -trained. He lives with a cat, but if given the chance he likes to give chase for a bit of fun. He walks well on a leash and he travels well in a car. He's exceptionally food motivated. He's what we call a food forager. If something looks like food, he's going to eat it. This behavior is probably why little Louie has a few too many pounds on him lol! He'll need to go on a diet and get back to a healthy weight. Despite his girth, Louie is spunky and fun. Louie was adopted originally from our shelter three years ago. While we hate like heck what's happening to his mommy and daddy, we're glad they turned back to us to place their best buddy in his next home. If you're looking for a ready-made wonderful little dog to welcome to your family, and help make an elderly couple feel better, come meet Louie. He's a special guy and will make for a wonderful companion. Call 706-865-4135 for information on additional health services provided as part of the adoption fee.
