We do our best to screen these dogs, but make no guarantees regarding the information posted.** Max is a very handsome young fellow whose owner has just had a baby, and writes that he needs more attention than she can give. They have contacted many places, but have not yet had any luck. She is very much hoping we can help to find Max a wonderful and loving new home. Name: Max Age: 8 months Breed: Shepherd/Basset Hound Sex: Male (neutered per owner) Location: Arlington, TX Vet Info: Max is neutered and up to date on vaccines per his owner. He has not had a recent heartworm test. Max weighs about 35 pounds. His owner tells us that he is partially blind, and it has gotten worse, and their vet thinks, 'it's just from his genetics'. Other than his vision, they write that he is healthy overall. Owner Info: Max is an indoor dog who is crated. He is housebroken and leash trained. Max knows several commands including, Cage, Sit, Outside, and Up. Max is described as outgoing, and he's a friendly fellow! He's good with men and women, and male and female dogs. His owner's sister gave us more information: 'Max has never been around any cats so I wouldn't know if he is okay, he has been around other small dogs and just wants to play.' Max is not possessive of toys, treats, or food, and has never shown aggression or bitten. Max is very sweet, but he does get nippy when he plays and is excited. 'He is nippy with everyone really, and the baby could just be laying there napping and he will jump on her or try. He has already nipped my youngest sister who is 15 for just being in a room. He is really sweet just doesn't understand not to nip as he gets very excited.' Max's owners feel he adapts well to new situations and tell us he loves new people and areas! Max's owners want us to know what a special boy he is. 'He's super fun and loving and loves to play and be outside.' Please contact [email protected] if you can foster Max. Please also note we will ask for a vet reference. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
