Charlie: 2 years old, black & tan, neutered male, natural ears and docked tail, 14' & 15 lbs., shots up-to-date & micro-chipped. Rescued from shelter. 'Greetings, I'm Charlie. My story starts with me getting lost and roaming the streets in a rural area of California. Life was not going to good for me. I couldn't find enough to eat, and I was getting pretty scared and hungry. I'm pretty fast, but the rabbits and squirrels were faster. And sometimes just when I thought I'd finally get to eat; they'd go down a hole. So, nope no dinner. One day I got caught by the animal control guy and taken to the shelter. No one looked for me while I was cold, lost and starving, and they didn't come to the shelter either. I got tossed into a pen with some other little guys who were having the same bad luck as me. At least we got to eat in there even if it was really loud with gobs of huge dogs in there all barking at once. I heard something about a stray hold and maybe getting put to sleep when it was up, so just when I thought my luck was going to change, I was back in danger again. Nobody in there was happy about the sleep thing, because it was rumored that you never woke up. That just didn't sound too good to me. Thankfully, before that put to sleep thing happened, a lady from IMPS came and was looking at some other little dogs. I did my best to make her notice me. I was jumping on the fence and trying to lick her hand. Anything to make her like me and get me out of here! Well it worked! She took me home with her along with the other little dogs. Finally, my life was turning around for me! That IMPS lady fosters dogs too and she's got some pretty cool dogs there that I became instant friends with. No one has to fight over food or treats because there are plenty. I'm finally warm, dry and loved. I can use the doggy door to go out and do my business, and I'm learning to walk on a leash. I'm learning that it is OK to stay in a crate, although sometimes I chase my tail and try to kill it when I'm in there. It keeps me entertained. Life was sooooo good for a couple of weeks, but one day just a short time ago, my foster mom put me in the car and took me to this vet person who neutered me. Well I can tell you this, I would have never gotten in the car if I'd know what neutered was. I had a miserable couple of days, but I'm over it now and I love humans again. Life is back to being great again! I've always loved humans, even when they have been mean to me. I don't know why, but I love them anyway. My foster mom says I'm the sweetest, funniest, most handsome guy! I'm a 15-pound boy with natural ears and a docked tail and I think I'm pretty good looking too. My mom says I'm ready for my forever home and that IMPS promises to look for the perfect home for me where they will love me, let me be a part of the family, and take really good care of me. I promise to love them forever too and I've got lots of love to give. I love hugs and kisses. I love my foster mom and my foster siblings, but I'd really like a family of my own. If you think you'd like for me to become part of your family, would you please fill out the application so we can meet and fall in love? I'm patiently waiting for you, Charlie' To see more photos of Charlie, please see: https://imps.shutterfly.com/2881 NOTE: Charlie is located in Springville/Sacramento, CA and we will not fly this boy.
