OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hello there, my name is Grohl, but my friends call me 'Flipper' because my front paws are really big. When I run, it looks like I'm wearing scuba gear. Without even trying, I'm naturally comedic. When I run, people smile. I get along very well with other dogs as well as tiny humans. Last week my siblings and I got to hang out with a whole bunch of little humans and we all loved it. There' s something about kids; they get me. They got a kick out of my gigantic front paws. When I'm not sleeping, I like to practice my pouncing. For the last few days, I've been honing my skills and I can almost get all four legs to lunge at the same time, almost. I enjoy exploring the world behind the couch and under the bed. I always like to be where the action is. Oh, I almost forgot, I really like to chew on my toys. Sometimes, I like to be held while I sleep and sometimes I like to climb on top of my brother and sister. We prefer to nap in a big pile and take turns being each other's pillow. If you come to the adoption center this weekend, be sure to check out my spotted belly that was featured last month on the cover of 'Puppy Vogue.' I have one of the cutest spotted-bellies. It's truly breathtaking; I suggest you rub it. If you happen to be interested in Algebra, I'm developing a formula for dog 'squatty ratio.' Normal dogs have a typical 'squatty ratio' near 2. My 'squatty ratio' is approximately 4.0. The formula is (Height @ shoulder) divided by (clearance). Where 'clearance' is measured from the floor to the lowest point of my rib cage. I can mathematically prove that I am the squattiest dog in the adoption center today. Grohl is a male Dachshund / JRT with DOB of 11/4/19. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
