About ROXY

SAY HELLO TO ROXY ! Roxy is a friendly 5 year old Shih Tzu / Yorkie mix girl. Weighing in at 16 pounds, Roxy is a super sweet lady. Roxy came to us as a surrender with her sister after her owner died and her owner's partner did not want to keep them. They both arrived in a significant state of neglect with matting, hardened feces and urine soaking so severe that we could hardly distinguish their heads from their tails. Yet still they were so friendly and sweet. While we originally planned to adopt them out together, her sister Coco was diagnosed with a cancer and we decided Roxy would not likely get a home if we didn't separate them. Her sister Coco is living with her forever foster and is doing very well with her new brothers and sisters. Roxy, the more outgoing one, is very attentive to you and craves attention! She prefers not to be left alone too much. She was not house trained but has been doing well with her foster being taken out every few hours during the day and has been crated at night. Roxy will need continued consistent gentle guidance and patience as she adjusts to her new family's routine. Roxy will need a family of adults who also have a friendly non-alpha small breed dog of like age and personality. Roxy walks very nicely on her leash and greets everyone with a tail wag and a smile. She rides well in the car and takes in all the sites, sounds and smells. Roxy is a longer coated curly breed that will require regular brushing as well as professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. Roxy's adoption fee is $ 325.00 This fee includes her Veterinarian Wellness check while here at the rescue, her spay, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership. Roxy will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free kibble that she has been eating.
