About Blinky

Look at this adorable boy! Blinky is a 9 year old Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel Poodle mix) who weighs 20 pounds. He was owner surrendered along with another dog due to change in circumstances. He's been adopted twice, but the fit in each home was not suitable to Blinky's nature. He is a good boy who will need some time to find his place in a new home. Once he has time to relax and know you, he is very sweet with his person. He will happily cuddle up on the couch and want affection, play tug or fetch a ball, or wander around the back yard. He gets so excited to get to go bye-bye and take a ride in the car, visit the pet store or dog park, and he is an excellent leash walker! He doesn't warm up to strangers easily and he can get nervous in an environment with a lot of activity (however he does well at the pet adoption events). He can become anxious and snap if he is in a tense situation or if you do something he doesn't like. Because of this we do not recommend a home with kids, or a very energetic, active household. Understanding this quirk isn't difficult and will make for a wonderful relationship between Blinky and his people. He sleeps in a dog bed on the floor at night. Blinky is good with most other dogs but can act out during meal time. He is not good with cats. He likes to keep to a schedule with his meals, knows where the treats are kept, and will let you know when he 'needs' one. His vet has discovered he is allergic to poultry which causes him to itch if he eats any. We recommend that all his food and treats be poultry-free! He is housebroken, up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Blinky is looking for a quiet, calm home with someone who will give him time to relax...plus regular car rides, lots of love and belly rubs!
