About Henry

German Shepherd / Lab
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Henry is a total lovebug! This super soft shepherd/lab mix is one of the 12-week old, 10-12 pound puppies who was surrendered this winter and is looking for a warm lap to curl up on! Henry is quite the looker with his golden yellow and black markings. He has the softest puppy fur that you can't help but pet for hours. Henry is super sweet, loves people, and is cuddly, playful, and curious. He loves adventure and always has a big grin on his face. Henry is an incredibly sweet and happy boy who thinks the best thing in the world is belly rubs! Henry is not afraid of new experiences (he's learning to navigate the stairs and doors) and is very chatty. Everyone who meets him says what a sweet boy he is -just a total gem of a pup. When the weather gets cold, who wouldn't want to snuggle up with the cutest little pup to keep you warm? Henry is a large, active breed mix who will need an active home with a yard, and is not suited to apartment living. Henry is at a developmental stage where he is exploring the world with his mouth, which can mean sharp puppy teeth chewing on hands, so he is looking for a home with children old enough to redirect him appropriately. He will require plenty of exercise, stimulation, training, and socialization for many months to come in order to help him on his journey to becoming a well-socialized, well-mannered boy. We estimate this sweet boy will be 50-70 lbs when full grown. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here:(https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
