About Oakley (east)

Pit Bull mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Hi, my name is OAKLEY - ID#A3890361. I am a neutered male, black and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 6 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Oct 26, 2019. This beautiful boy recently found his way back to the shelter and although seeing a familiar face is always bitter sweet, a second chance at happily-ever-after is a pretty good silver-lining. He was originally at the shelter in May of 2017, adopted out for only 3 months and returned because he was too hard to handle, and did not get along with owner's other dog or cat. He was again adopted, but returned to the shelter on October 26, 2019 due to owners becoming pregnant and afraid of Oakley. They stated that he is house trained, but pulls on leash, jumps up, but knows 'sit', 'shake', and 'down'. He became overly protective when owner became pregnant. Oakley needs more socialization with other dogs, and is defensive if a hand or other object is placed over his head (very common). Oakley is affectionate, playful and people focused. He loves toys and knows several basic commands. Since his return he has become more selective with dog-friends, so an introduction is always recommended if there are any children or other pets in the home. Considering Oakley's history, he is at extreme risk for euthanasia unless adopted very soon. Please consider this lost soul for your next furry family member. 'URGENT' - If you have no breed restrictions, please call ASAP 520-800-4633. *NOTE: This dog is located at MCACC East: 2630 W Rio Salado Pkwy, Mesa AZ 85201
