About Dakota

Dakota is 8 years old and we are her second home. She came to us four years ago when her original owner became ill with a terminal disease. Dakota is an energetic, sweet and loving dog who enjoys her independence. Dakota currently lives with one other dog and a cat. At times she has shown food aggression issues. She's good with children but recommend in a home with kids older than five. Dakota enjoys taking walks - always on a leash, and needs daily exercise. Like most malamutes, she will run away if she's not on a leash or if you forget to close a door or gate. She enjoys being outdoors so it's important to have a fenced-in yard. She is also getting older so needs a loving family who will take care of her as she ages. Due to a recent change in jobs, our family situation has significantly changed. Dakota needs an owner that has more consistent hours, retiree, works from home, or does not work.
