About Bruce & Red

Meet Bruce and Red, a bonded pair that made their way to Connecticut all the way from a shelter in South Carolina. Both are one and a half year old Carolina dogs. Bruce appears to have some beagle/shepherd in him and Red could have be part chihuahua. They weigh just 25 lbs. and are a perfect size for any home. Both pups can be a bit cautious, especially around people, but once they're comfortable, their personality shines! The boys LOVE to play, cuddle, and enjoy getting belly rubs from their people. Bruce and Red love to run after each other and toss around some toys. They are very food motivated and love their treats and a nice bone to chew on. They're always smiling, despite their unfortunate upbringing. These boys have had an incredibly hard start to their life. Bruce and Red were found during a house fire with 65 other animals. Due to being under-socialized, it was determined that they lived outside with little human interaction. While shy, they are very loving, friendly, and gentle dogs. Since being in a foster home, they are adjusting really well and learning to trust. Bruce and Red are great on leash and are dog and cat friendly. They are currently working on their house training and are doing well. A house with a fenced in yard is preferred. Since birth, these boys have only had each other so we'd like to keep them as a bonded pair. They work in tandem and do everything together, whether it be sleeping, eating, or playing. The adoption fee for both dogs is $300 and they come neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Bruce and Red are currently located in a foster home in Brookfield, CT.
