Good morning, maybe you could help us with our sweet pup! We had rescued her a few months ago, she had been severally abused in her past. But we thought with time she would warm up. I currently have a 1 year old husky who is great, a three year old little boy and another on the way. She has now started to potty all over the house even though she is let out ALL throughout the day. I'm a stay at home mom. It's like she chooses to go inside. I don't know how to break her. I don't want to pop her bottom with her being abused in the past & we can't kennel her when she does potty in the house. We tried that and she went crazy and chewed the metal until her mouth bled. She did great about not going potty inside at first and always sitting by the back door when she had to go. But it's not that that is the problem, but she growls at my son and the neighborhood kids all the time. She JUMPS our 8ft privacy fence in our backyard every time we let her out and it makes me so nervous. Even thought she goes straight to the porch and will sit there until we let her in. They will be 10 feet away from her and she will just growl, But she's not like that all the time! My son can lay with her, pet her, and give her tons of lovins and she's fine. & he's not your typical 3 year old. He's grown up with doggies, he knows how to treat them. But he was playing dinosaurs on our living room floor and she was showing teeth growling from the corner. There was another instance a few days ago when we were all in living room, I was sitting on the couch next to her, my son was dancing maybe 5 feet in front of me and his dad was sitting in the floor and she stood up and showed teeth growling. My son sleeps in his own room but some night when he wakes up he runs into our bedroom, thankfully our husky is glued to his side because Callie (the dog we are having trouble with) lunged at my son. My husky jumped in front of her and pinned her up against the wall. She didn't hurt her, she just let her know that's not ok. I'm sorry to give you so many scenarios, but I wanted you to get a feel for what we are dealing with. With a new baby coming soon I'm honestly terrified. I love her and don't want to have to give her up, she has had such a hard life as it is, but I just don't know what to do. & last night she just charged my son for no reason at all, with me sitting right next to her. She nearly bit him. I feel like her aggression is stimulated by some sort of PTSD, caused by her past history. I hate to do this because this sweet baby has had such a hard life as it is but I feel like I have no other option to give her up. I can not risk her hurting someone. All the trainers/behavioralist I have spoken with said it takes a minimum of 12 weeks to really start noticing improvement. It's not that I am not willing to put in work with animals, it's just I'm not sure if I can risk my sons safety until her behavioral problems get sorted out. With that being said, I do not want to just give her up anywhere.. We love her very very very much, and I need to make sure that wherever she goes she will get the help that is needed. Not somewhere where she will not be locked in a cage until she hopefully gets adopted and pray that family will do what it takes to give her the best life possible. I need somewhere that will work with her to improve her behavioral problems and find her the right medication(s) the behavioralist feels she may need to be on. I want her to find a loving forever home. I need some where that has experience or specializes in dogs with trauma from being abused and aggression. She has had a third of her tail cut off & has cut all up the back of her legs. This sweet baby has had a very hard life. Somewhere that will not put her down and somewhere that she will be in excellent care. Thank you for taking the time to read my message. If you can not help but maybe know of someone who can, if you don't mind giving me their Information it would be greatly appreciated. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.
