Lab / Weimaraner

Sex: Female

Meet Lilly This beautiful girl is Lilly. Lilly is heartbroken at finding herself homeless. She has no idea what she's done wrong. Lilly is a 4.7 year-old female black Labrador Retriever/Weimaraner mix, weighing 72 pounds. She's gorgeous with eyes that will melt your heart. Lilly loves being with people and kids, she's very friendly and affectionate. She loves nothing better than climbing into your lap and showing her appreciation with lots of doggie kisses. She's smart and eager to please. She's house-trained. Despite all these good things about Lilly, her owner returned her saying that she was ultimately too strong, too active and hard to walk and a bit too over-protective/attached for her owner's comfort, especially when it came to the other family's pet, a small 15 pound dog. It seemed as if Lilly knew it wasn't working out, despite her trying her best. During the months that she was adopted, Lilly started exhibiting anxiety signs like excessive licking and pacing. Thinking her behavior was medical or diet driven, Lilly was thoroughly vetted. It turns out what Lilly really needs (per her vet) is to run and play and go on hikes. She needs a way to expend her energy! After all a tired dog is a happy dog. Lilly would do great with an active family or with an owner who can give her a lot of exercise and brain teasers to keep her engaged, a steady hand and some leash training. Lilly would also do best in a house without smaller animals, including smaller dogs and cats. Lilly would probably do fine with larger dogs that she can't push around, but we'd have to dog test her for potential adopters. Lilly is a wonderful dog and with the right owner and in the right situation, she'll blossom. She is a diamond in the rough. She truly wants to be someone's loyal companion giving them all the love that she has and do all those fun things that her person does. Lilly has had a couple of false starts in life, but for the person or family willing to open their heart and home to a beautiful dog, you will be richly rewarded. Come meet our sweet Lilly. You'll be glad you did. She just might smoother you in doggie kisses. Lilly is current on vaccinations, she's spayed and micro-chipped.
