About Bandit

This is Bandit, a 7 year old long haired Chihuahua/Dachsund mix who weighs 14 pounds. He was recently surrendered to us through no fault of his own. Bandit had been living outside for several months while the person who had him (a family member of the owner, who no longer wanted this precious boy!) tried to find him a good home. We were happy to take him in-- he is beautiful! Bandit is good with other dogs of all sizes and loves cats. It took him a couple days to settle in to his foster home, but now he loves sitting by his foster mom and sleeping in the big bed at night. Bandit also loves belly rubs. He hasn't played with any toys, but he does play with the other dogs. He is mostly housebroken although does occasionally mark in the house. He is getting better as he adjusts. Remember this boy has been living outside for months! He will need time to learn what is and isn't ok in a new home. He should go to a home with a fenced yard as he doesn't like to go for walks and does not like it when you try to put a leash on him. He will lightly nip at you when he isn't comfortable with something. For this reason a home without younger children is a must. He is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Overall he's a pretty chill guy who will be a good pet once he gets used to being a loved part of a family again!
