About Nene

Meet Nene! He is a 4 year old Chihuahua Terrier mix who weighs 9 pounds. Nene came to us from a New Orleans shelter. He is a cute little scruffy boy with an adorable underbite! He is very friendly and jumped right up in his foster mom's lap and gave her kisses when he first met her. He is good with other dogs but has not been cat or kid tested. Nene is high energy, very playful, and goes crazy for balls! He likes cozy spaces and sleeping in the big bed snuggled up with his person. He is a bit lap possessive, but his foster family is working with him on that. Nene is housebroken, but like many dogs he may initially mark in a new home. Once he knows your routine and adjusts to a new environment he's fine. Nene is up to date on shots, neutered, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. He is heartworm positive and has started his treatment--which consists of 30 days of Doxycycline, given twice a day, followed by 12 months of Ivermectin. He will be retested at that time. The rescue supplies the medicine and pays for the tests until he tests negative. Nene is a very affectionate loving boy who would love to meet you!
