About Faith-ADOPTION PENDING

Poodle / Lhasa Apso
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Faith is a dignified girl that deserves far better than the deck she was handed in life. Faith is a very loving, low maintenance.. and SO sweet girl who just wants to snuggle and be a best friend to an individual or family that desires this pure love in their lives. Faith is just about 8 - 9 years old...although it's so difficult to tell for certain. Age is generally determined by teeth and if nutrition is poor, a dog will appear older than her actual years. Faith weighs just about 11 lbs of nothing but pure love! Faith would be an absolutely perfect companion for anyone who is searching for that sweet lap dog and very best friend. She will be by your side to hug and love on...these are always the most important things to Faith! She's a smaller girl and so portable and well-behaved that she can be a full-time best friend...accompanying her guardians everywhere a sweet, quiet and very lovable dog is welcome. It's always amazing to us at Farfel's Rescue that these dogs with very sweet and engaging temperaments (and as dignified as Faith) often come from inhumane, horrifying situations. Faith was a last-minute save for us...she came from a hoarding/breeding situation that was indescribable in it's filth and disregard for any needs of the dogs. Faith was terribly matted to the point of being unable to walk until being groomed for the first time in her life by compassionate volunteers. Faith (and a number of others) had reportedly never been outside of a dark and dingy locked room in the back of a falling down house. Our rescuer reported back to us that she broke down in tears for this brave little girl who had been through the unimaginable in her life...and was finally free! She said she broke down again the first time Faith went outside into the sunshine. This disrespected girl turned her head to the sun to feel its warmth and we're positive we saw her cry with joy. Faith may be a bit shy initially as rehoming is challenging for any dog...but with love and nurturing, she will absolutely shine. We envision Faith with dog-crazy retirees (she would be overjoyed with time spent and being at the center of a loving family). Faith will be a full-time best friend, giving all of her love and loyalty to her person. A like-sized canine or feline friend would be great as well. Faith would enjoy the companionship and cuddle times with a furry best friend. For those family members who enjoy walks and time outside along neighborhood paths ...Faith would love nothing more than to share the experience. Her Texas foster loves daily walks and Faith comes along...so happily walking beside her foster. Some of the time, if it gets too much for her little legs, her foster scoops her into a doggie stroller. Faith is always up for these daily outings..fascinated by the activity around her. She breathes in the air...so happy to be in the sunshine. And then, maybe Faith's favorite part...it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot on the bed close beside her favorite family members. As a Poodle/Lhasa Apso mix, Faith is a non-shedding dog that is considered an excellent choice for those who have allergy concerns. As is evident in her photos, Faith's coat will require some care and grooming. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement coupled with premium food is important for coat care and longevity) to keep her hair cottony- soft, very healthy and matt-free. Faith will be arriving on transport in Boulder over the weekend of February 1 - 3rd. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, cuddly, very calm and loving best friend, please fill out our application completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Faith please be sure to fill out the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Adoptapet, Rescueme and Petfinder don't provide enough information for our purposes. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
