About Wendy

Wendy is a 4.5 year old schnauzer and maltese mix (mauzer) who was adopted from a rescue center in Mexico last Summer by our family. She is a sweet, loyal, beautiful girl who enjoys spending time with her human companions. Wendy is playful, funny, enjoys walks, sunbathing, and being held and petted. She is housebroke and crate trained. She is an indoor dog who enjoys occasional visits to the backyard for brief sniff around but due to her thin coat could not be an outdoor pet. She does have some reactivity to other dogs on leash but enjoys meeting them off leash - although she might need guidance. She likes to play with her chew toys and stuffed animals. She can get anxious when new people enter the home and will bark and needs reassurance. When worried or anxious she barks. She does not nip or bite even when our kids handle her. She would do best in a home without extensive number of visitors or kids (although she is wonderful with older kids but does not like them running around or having many friends come over). She would also like a home where her humans don't leave her alone for extended hours. She enjoys just hanging out and resting next to us or in her favorite armchair while we work from home or lounge. We are not sure how she would do with other pets in the home. Her overall health is good. She has all her preventative work (shots, deworming) and we take her to the vet for regular check ups. Her right eye has a cataract but it does not seem to affect her overall vision noticeably. She truly is a wonderful dog who would be better suited for a less busy household where kids seem to run around and have friends come and go.
