About Max

Max came into our lives beginning of summer 2019. We took him in from a relative as a temporary placement but after realizing he wouldn't work with our family/home dynamic, his original owner would not take him back. We had him neutered in Aug 2019. He is a sweet boy, loves walks (but needs a little more leash training). He behaves very well indoors, he doesn't tear up furniture but will chew up stuffed animals/toys if he gets ahold of them. He does not do well with chickens (unsure of other small livestock), he killed all of ours and some of our neighbors which is the main reason he cannot stay. We live in a farm area, many people have chickens and livestock around us... I don't want him to get shot or something. Max will do anything to get out of the yard to get to chickens. We have tried everything to keep him contained but he always figures out something new. He I also plays too aggressively with my kids in the backyard and will not stop harassing them unless I am right there so my kids are unable to play in our yard if he's outside. We have a 1/2 acre fenced yard and we play with him daily. He gets plenty of exercise but really needs someone that can be consistent with him. My husband was disabled in a car accident last year and with 5 kids I am unable to train him and exercise him consistently. I am honestly too overwhelmed at this point.
