About Red

Ready with the cutest of play bows whenever he sees his fosters, Red also greets them with joyous barks, bounces and jumps. At a trim 30 pounds, this sweet and gentle survivor (he was seen being thrown from a moving car), has slowly been learning to trust again, and although he still startles easily, is growing in confidence daily. Much of Red's progress is due to his doggy foster sib with whom he LOVES to play -- particularly robust games of tug-o-war with a rope toy. Motivated by food, toys and praise, he accepts treats gently but cautiously, knows 'come', 'sit', and 'stay', and is working on 'down'. Understandably fearful of car rides, he's housetrained to use a doggy door, is at work on his crate training and on walking with a harness and leash. Now what Red needs are patient adopters with another confident, playful dog to continue building his confidence, complete his training and lavish him with the loving attention he both desires and deserves.
