About Kellogg

Urgent!! Shelter is full!! 'Kellogg wasn't instantly smitten with the idea of leaving his cage. He wasn't excited to make my acquaintance either. It actually took quite some time and even more treats to even get a leash on him, leaving his safe space was a hole other journey. Slow and steady wins every time with fearful dogs like Kellogg. Unfortunately leaving the loudness of the pav didn't give him the instant relief I'd hoped for. He wasn't a fan of being outdoors even in the mild temps that day and after a few steps into the yard retreated to the corner of the door. I'd guess Kellogg lived outside without proper food or shelter by his body condition. Inside we didn't do much but try to build his confidence with tons of treats. He's definitely not ready for handling and the few pets I did sneak in were met with flinches and whale eyes. After thousands of calories Kellogg gave my hand a few licks and even came to take a treat from my leg. Kellogg needs a patient foster that will give him space to come around on his own schedule.
