Urgent!! Sweet brokenhearted girl needs a chance at being loved before she is killed. Shelter is full so she is high risk. '1/2020 notes: Poor Lucetta is back and she seems to know just where she is. She is eager to get out of her kennel to spend time with her human friends. Lucetta loves to show you she knows how to sit and give her paw, it's adorable. She can be really jumpy but means well. She's still a young lady, learning good manners. She loves to give hugs and receive pets. Lucetta will do well in an experienced home probably with older kids just because she's a young active pup and still acquiring the ropes. At this time she would also likely prefer a quieter neighborhood with fewer dog distractions. Lucetta is a tiny nugget, maybe 35 pounds or so! She loves to shower people with playful jumps, hugs and paw tricks! 5/2019 notes: Lucetta was so terrified when we first met. She was frozen in fear when she attempted to walk through the pavilion so I carried her little body out side. She again was frozen and trembling when I set her down in the grass so I carried her in a play-lot. She is incredibly underweight for her age and clearly had a traumatic start to life. Once I took off Lucetta's leash she repeatedly moved away from me before settling into a spot as close to the fence as possible. If she could've melted into the fence she would've. The only saving grace I had was a bag full of treats and her little tummy was empty. Lucetta was soft and gentle taking treats and never pushy for the next one. Fast over head movements freaked her out and she had no interest in toys or maybe just had never seen them before. She didn't mind being picked up and carried, allowed me to look at her teeth and hold her paws as well as pet her all over. The day after we met an adopter decided she was the one but didn't bring the resident dog into the shelter for a meet & greet. A few days later Lucetta was returned because she was terrified of that dog. Her face is all banged up. Came in as an owner surrender on 1/6/20 and is available rescue NOW. Customer is surrendering dog due to new landlord changing dog policy. Only info given.' Written by a volunteer. Please consider saving this cutie pie.
