About Indy

Adoption Fee: $250
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This gorgeous boy is Indigo, or Indy for short. He is a 2 year old purebred Australian Cattledog who weighs about 45 pounds. He also has a fantastic raccoon tail. Such a handsome boy. Indy is all ACD and is looking for a home that can keep him busy. Indy knows his basics: Sit, laydown, and come. He also knows some tricks: High five and spin. Indy is house and crate trained. He should be watched if another dog has marked in a place, but otherwise is a polite boy. Indy is nice with adults, but isn't a fan of people wearing sunglasses. He likely isn't a fit for small kids since he does like to herd his people down the hall. This could be scary to a little kid. Indy is good with other dogs. He is best with larger dogs, though, since some of the small dogs think he is a bit too rough in play. He also likes to play fetch with his people, though his favorite game is to be chased. He is working on learning to drop the call when he brings it back. Indy would be a great adventure partner. He is good on leash and loves the car. He loves the beach. He thinks it's fun to play with the hose. He also loves the pool and will take a flying leap into it to get a toy. After a day filled with fun, he then likes to snuggle up on the couch or bed with his person, chewing on a toy. He loves to have his tummy scratched and will paw for more. He will rest his head on my shoulder, like giving a hug. Indy is typical for his breed. He can be a bit stubborn. He also gets bored, so needs someone to keep him busy so he doesn't cause trouble like bored ACDs do. From time to time, Indy will submissive pee when meeting someone new. Making sure that he gets a polite introduction makes this easy to reduce. Mostly, Indy is a super dog looking for an active person who can be his pal. Indy is neutered, microchipped, and he is up to date on vaccinations. He is located in La Canada, CA. We do not ship our dogs. He is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
