About Pete

My husband and I adopted Pete in early January from the Columbiana County Dog Warden. Not much is known about his history. He seemed just skittish and nervous around our older female shepherd but once in our home we learned he is not a good fit. He is sweet and playful, smart and knows some commands, and is very food motivated. Pete is fully vetted, micro chipped, crate trained, housebroken, and walks well on a leash. He knows leave it fairly well and is curious about our small cat but had not chased or hunted her. He does great in public settings and with people and overall is affectionate and loving. Sadly, he wants to dominate our older, larger boxer mix and she is not having it. There are daily scuffles despite moments of calm and the stress has become too much. We would provide his collar and food with his new home and have his paperwork from the Warden along with rabies tag. We do not have small children so we don't know how he is with kids. He needs to gain a few pounds still and was skin and bones when we got him. Pete is a good boy and deserves a loving home. We're sad that isn't with us, but if you don't have another dog please consider this sweet guy. He is small, short and only 44 pounds. He can also army crawl like nobody's business and cocks his head when you talk to him. I have many more pictures, please contact me and I'll send them to you.
