About Finny

Australian Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

I am posting about our sweet Finny. I had posted about a month ago and unfortunately did not stay on top of responding to email so I'm back at it now! We bought Finn, a purebred mini Australian Shepherd when he was just 8 weeks old and he has meant everything to me. He's bit a bit of a therapy dog to me, just so aware of my feelings. Sweet temperament, very loyal, and protective of my husband and I. Extremely submissive as well with us both. However, anyone not in his 'circle,' he equates to being a danger to my husband and I, and has shown aggressive behavior in the past, including biting. He's a herding dog, and when he bites, it's more of a nip, but still enough to be troublesome. This also may be due to a break in that occurred at our house several years ago while he was home. Unfortunately, just recently my husband and I had a baby, who is now 1yo, and she was reaching for Finn's bone while my back was turned, and was bit. She's okay; my fault completely. He has done well with the adjustment of having a new baby, but doesn't believe her to be in his 'circle.' Finn lives outdoors most the time now and is nowhere near our baby, and his quality of life is so much lower now. He deserves better. I love him so much and am so sad to have to rehome him but I know that its best. He loves running on the trails, and being with his people. We have fed him raw since the beginning. He is so smart and learns tricks quickly. Please contact me for a picture and more info. Thank you!
