Meet Charlie! Charlie is from India and is called a Desi Dog by the locals, which just means local 'street' dog. The wonderful staff at KAW, a rescue center in India, found Charlie with a badly injured front leg that had to be amputated. Charlie is now fully healed and manages very well as a tripod! This beautiful brindle boy is about 2 years old and weighs about 43 lbs. Charlie is an exceptional dog. He is smart, funny and athletic, but Charlie is timid and perfers the company of a lady. He bonds with women but only tolerates men. He is indifferent to cats but finds children a bit overwhelming. Charlie really likes having a dog buddy around. He loves other dogs and is much more relaxed when there is a second dog in the home. He would also do well in a home with a fenced yard where he can truly cut loose and play. Charlie would do best with an experienced dog owner who can help him feel safe. Charlie has spent the last month being fostered by a professional trainer who has brought Charlie along. Charlie knows all the basic commands and is crate trained and housebroken. Apply now to adopt this handsome boy! Browse all our adoptable dogs and apply to adopt at ophrescue.org.
