About Tonka

Tonka is a young 2 year 11 month mini Aussie full of vim and vigor, smart, willing to please! Prefer him to go to a home whose experienced w the breed. Interested person(s) must be willing to allow me to oversee his care for as long as I deem necessary because he has a couple of issues that I need to witness/know firsthand, become resolved. The family must be willing to let me maintain my friendship w the dog and respect my input & instructions. Adoption will be on a 30 day trial basis, provision made for return w refund during that time,return but no refund after 30 days. . He has lived w me and one other adult since 8 weeks old. He's high energy and loves to retrieve a ball or frisbee. He was crate trained in his first year but now I either place him in the kitchen w a retaining fence up or he can be outside in the back yard when the weathers nice. He loves to go bye-byes in the car on errands w me around town n most places he comes inside w me n loves meeting people. He has obedience training and is well behaved but he needs to be challenged more than what I have time for. He would do well in agility and other types of challenges. I believe he'd be happy herding sheep. He is a dog who loves to be with his human. Not a dog to be left outside all the time. He is brought inside to sleep at night. The reason I canniot keep him is bcuz he doesn't get along well with my small breed dog, but he does get along fine w the Husky I have. I believe he's jealous of the smaller dog bcuz I take him places Tonka doesn't get to go. I would be cautious to say best w no small dogs but fine with his kind ( herding dogs) or any other larger breed.
