About Leia

Meet pretty Leia! She was surrendered to a Mississippi shelter when her person went into a nursing facility. Leia is about two and a half years old and weighs 13 pounds. She is a very pretty dark silver and white Chihuahua mix (we think maybe Frenchie or Boston Terrier). Leia's foster family say she is pretty much the best little dog they have fostered. She is very well behaved and fits right in with the rest of the dogs in the home. She doesn't play much with them, but would definitely be happiest in a home with another little dog. She has not been cat or kid tested. Leia is a sweet chunky little lap dog! She loves belly rubs. She is skittish and cowers a bit submissively when you reach for her to pick her up, but she will eventually roll over on her back and offer that tummy for some petting. She prefers to sleep in the big bed and will sleep by your side all night long. She appears to be pad trained and seems to do fairly well on a leash, but so far she doesn't venture out into the yard with the other dogs. It's possible she is used to being taken for regular walks. Leia is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay is scheduled soon and is covered by the rescue as long as it is done at our vet.
