About ALFIE

Adoption Fee: yes
Australian Cattle Dog mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

ALFIE named after a children's book, 'Alfred the Little Bear' is smart and engaging. He is deaf. He has hazel eyes similar to his mom's blue eyes (see pic). He had a hard start to life - he was born on a reservation and two of his siblings froze to death. He was brought into the rescue and bottle-fed and we've discovered he and one of his three living sister's are DEAF. At 9 weeks old today, he already recognizes two hand gestures and is eager to learn! When he's excited/happy his ears flicker in unison - it's very adorable:-) He loves his tennis ball and tv (especially commercials). He's fostered with a cat and a dog. His adoption fee includes his vaccinations, deworming, neutering and microchip. His DOB is Nov 30 and it appears he will be a med-sized dog. We prefer our puppies adopt to families that have another friendly dog. In this case we'll of course ask your plans and/or experience with deaf dogs. We like to stay in touch -- updates are great! Our process is to contact us via email [email protected] (please do not call). We have an online application, we have a meeting at your home with your family members including current pets. (Yes we bring the pet to you!) a trial adoption and stay in touch - we love updates! We adopt locally to the Santa Fe, central ABQ, Rio Rancho and Los Alamos areas of New Mexico.
