TO BE KILLED - 1/14/2020 The ACC NY Shelter will kill FIG tomorrow if a foster or adoptee does not come forward ! What a beauty and sweet girl ! Please save her ! Number below to text KAT 5164573678 , not much time left !!! Will transport ! Beautiful Brindle Babe Fig! ~ 'Oh bring us a figgy pudding, and a cup of good cheer!' FIG was found tied to a gate, alone and lonely, at the holiday season. Her beauty shone, because in her brindle and white coat, she is a stunning site to behold. And as she sat there, the cold enveloping her, trembling a bit, and lifting one paw up and then the other to keep them from freezing, she, too, hoped for a cup of good cheer. But the hours passed, and so did all the passersby who took not of this gorgeous girl, but just kept walking, believing her to be waiting for her owner. But finally, someone who knew better stopped to help her out, and FIG ended up on a long ride to the kill shelter instead of to a soft bed in a loving home. And now sits, a sweet girl, wondering if she will ever find a family who will commit to her forever. Gentle and loving, at first timid and then cuddly, Fig hopes you will be the person to give her, her holiday wish. A volunteer writes: Dear Santa, My name is Fig and I've been a really good girl this year! Everything has been hustle and bustle here at the Brooklyn Care Center but I just wanted to make sure you knew exactly what I wanted for Christmas. I know I'm on the nice list because even the police officers who found me tied to a gate and brought me in say that I was super friendly and I rode loose in their car. Boy that was fun and I was grateful to be out of the cold! While I've been here, I've managed to maintain my housebreaking, walk nicely on the leash, and though I can be shy at first, I love being pet and spoken softly to. I like to play with toys, but with all the new sights and smells (sniffing the ground is currently one of my favorite hobbies!) I lose interest quickly. I'm looking for a home where I can be the only Fig in your figgy pudding (no other dogs please!) and without any small kids as lots of noise and activity may intimidate me. You see, the staff and volunteers here have made it really cozy and gave us some new treats and new toys this holiday season, and though they do the best they can, the care center is no substitute for the real thing: a home. She is initially nervous as she enters the pens with a low, slightly tucked posture. But when she notices the male at the gate she rushes forward while grumbling. INTAKE BEHAVIOR: Date of intake: 1-Dec-2019 Summary: Friendly, allowed handling MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Date of initial: 2-Dec-2019 Summary: Nervous initially though warmed up readily and allowed handling ENERGY LEVEL: In the care center, Fig has displayed a medium energy level. We recommend daily mental and physical stimulation as a way to direct her energy and enthusiasm.
