About Lola

Meet Lola! This little girl is so sweet she just makes our hearts melt! Lola had a bit of a rough time in her young life as she was picked up as a stray that no one claimed. When we found her she was not even the creamy white color that she is now but completely gray from how dirty she was out on the streets. She was shy and approached us with her tail between her legs but quickly understood that we were there to help. She is a Maltipoo which is a Poodle and Maltese mix. She has lovely soft fur that is hypoallergenic and non-shedding. Our vet is estimating her to be about 18 months to 2 years. She weighs about 11 - 12 pounds and has nice long legs but is petite. Lola is super affectionate and cuddly. Sit on the couch and she just wants to cuddle on your lap. she also loves being outside and playing with the other dogs in rescue. She is friendly, a non-barker and housebroken. Her adoption fee includes: 1. Current vaccinations 2. Spay 3. Rabies 5. Microchip 6. Collar and leash 7. Starter food and treats. An adoption fee does apply. As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule. 2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. 3. How many adults, children and pets in the household. 4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work. 5. Where your pet will sleep. Some notes to consider before applying for Lola: 1. Lola is a Maltese/Poodle mix and being such she will need grooming about every 6 weeks. 3. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 4. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 5. We are not a shelter and do not have visiting hours. We are foster based and all dogs are in private homes. We request that you answer the questions listed above. After that there will be a phone screen and when we do make an appointment all decision makers are required to be there. We do not adopt first come first serve but once we do make an appointment with a family more often than not the adoption takes place the same day. Thank you for choosing to adopt!
