About Fred

Fred is a faithful, laid-back 2- to 3-year-old Rattie mix, whose only desire is to please you--his human. He simply asks for your patience as he warms up to his new home. Once he does that, you've got a buddy for life. Fred is a great couch companion, and at 18 lbs., he'll easily fit on your lap or next to you as you watch TV. He may even watch a bit of it himself before he drifts off to dream his doggy dreams. This friendly fellow gets along with other dogs and even cats and while he hasn't met any kids, he'd probably be fine with teens. He does startle easily, however, so he would probably not be comfortable around very young or excitable kids. Fred is reliably house-trained and trustworthy being loose in your house if you have to go out, but he's also crate trained and will readily go into his crate, especially if a treat is involved. At bedtime, he'll happily join you in your bed if you invite him. Fred is working on his leash walking skills, but he hopes you'll have a fenced yard, where he can leisurely perform property inspections and take care of business.
