Someone, HELP! Please! A friend of mine just surrendered a beautiful, healthy, affectionate, 2 y.o., black Newfoundland (/Lab mix?) male to the same shelter he rescued him from a month ago. This is such a fantastic dog. As far as I can tell, he doesn't have a mean bone in his entire body. He's unneutered and not well trained. My friend just wasn't up to the task, by a long shot. I would keep him, myself, in a hot second if I didn't live in a small house with 2 Labs and a cat. I don't know much about the dog shelter he's in (kill/no-kill), but he doesn't deserve to be there! He needs someone willing to take the time to train him. To be honest, he chewed a small hole in a couch cushion and started peeing on the floor, but that was his poorly-suited new owner's fault for not taking the time to train him. I'd say it was less than a half-hearted effort, at best, especially after the couch incident. So disappointed, angry, and heartbroken that he let this dog slip through his fingers. This dog deserves so much better. I'm sorry I don't have a picture, but he's at the Bangor Dog Shelter in Bangor, NY. 518-483-3754 He's beautiful, inside and out.
