About Sampson

Sampson is a purebreds German Shepherd. We bought Sam at 8 weeks old from a breeder in Westerville Ohio. At the time we lived in a townhouse with 6 children. To our fault, Sam was not socialized as much as he should have been and he was teased by the kids and fearful adults in the community. As a result, he is people aggressive. Only people whom he knows and trusts came come in and out of our home freely without him growling and being unpredictable. However, when we moved 2 years ago to Marion, he has surprised us. The kids have 4 friends that can come in and out and he welcomes them. I know deep down he is capable of being a friendly dog with the right family. At this time we have to move again because we are relocating for work. We cannot keep Sam because if his behavior. Our new neighbors will be too close and he just needs someone who has the time to really work with him and train him. My heart is broken writing this, but I know it ultimately is what is best for him. He needs a home with Space. He's a large dog. He can learn to love a family and children. We have 8 kids. Ages 22-5. He adores them all. Loves women and loves my husband. He doesn't like cats. Loves other dogs and isn't dog aggressive at all. With time, he would be an amazing addition to anyone's home. We have never done this, we love him so much and don't want the wrong people to take him on. If you can help, our family would be grateful.
