About Gia

*PLEASE READ GIA'S BIO THOROUGHLY BEFORE INQUIRING* Meet Gia! Isn't she cute? Gia came to us when her owner called us begging for us to take her and her two puppies, Milo and Charlie. Her owner had been using her for breeding and when he got overwhelmed with too many dogs, he wanted them gone. We were more than happy to take Gia and her puppies in! We got them spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and then into a wonderful loving foster home. Gia is a 4 year old Terrier/Shih Tzu mix approximately 17lbs. All Gia knows is being around her puppies 24/7 so whoever adopts her needs to be patient and understanding with the fact that she might be very scared and take time to feel safe and loved. We want this sweet girl in a home with another young male dog, which she seems to do best with or better yet she could be adopted with one of her boys. Gia is great with all people (men, women, children) and has no aggression with them whatsoever. She is a little stand offish with other dogs when she first seems them, but we do see that she warms up quicker to male dogs her size or smaller.One thing she does not like, is cats! Gia needs a home with a yard where she can lay out in the sun. We are also looking for owners that are around most of the day, work from home, or are retired as we have found out that she has some separation anxiety. Gia can and will be a 'runner' for the first few months, meaning she will take off and dart out the door or any opening given the chance so we are requiring certain accommodations to be made to her new home such as wrap pen at least 2 1/2ft tall around the front door. Gia had a hard life and humans that only wanted to use her, so we feel she only deserves the best! Don't you agree? Gia is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. *WE ONLY ADOPT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS A HOME CHECK AND TRIAL PERIOD ARE REQUIRED.*
