Coal is the sweetest boy who is looking for a very loving, very special forever home. Coal is about 2 years old & is super shy when he first meets you but warms up quick. Coal is pretty much potty trained, he uses the dog door and we haven't had an accident in a while. He is super smart and will do great with someone who enjoys training. Whoever adopts him will have to be aware that he does have health issues. Coal has aortic stenosis and an enlarged heart. It is a congenital defect which affects his aortic valve. His valve is deformed which allows blood to travel backwards instead of pumping out. The cardiologist recommends that he will need to have his heart X-Ray'd every 4-6 months to make sure it's not getting larger, and although he might potentially have a shorter life span (3-5 years) he will still be a happy boy and not be in pain. He LOVES to play and run around like a normal goofy puppy. He does get tired easy, and it's best not to let him go too hard at playtime or go on too long of a walk. Whoever adopts him must understand that they should not restrict him completely from playing, do not just make him just hang out inside the house. He needs to make the most out of his short time here, quality over quantity. #hereforagoodtimenotalongtime He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $180 which includes 30 days of complementary pet insurance and a free veterinary visit. To meet him, please contact his foster mom Jennifer at 626-696-6426.
