About Apollo (west)

Hi, my name is APOLLO - ID#A4340744. I am a neutered male, gray and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old, and I weigh about 73 lbs. I have been at the shelter since Nov 09, 2019. Apollo is a calm and gentle boy, who is tolerant of other dogs, and walks well on a leash. He is playful, knows 'sit', and is quite affectionate with humans. Apollo should have been called Fred Astaire, because he does a little 'happy dance' when he gets excited. He also likes 'booty' rubs. Here are a few notes given by volunteers who have recently spent time with Apollo: 12/19/2019 ENRICHMENT chaperone stated dog was not toy motivated but was treat motivated. Knows sit. Dog was very mellow. He walks well on the leash and was easy kennel return. 12/27/2019 WALK Slight pull on leash. Likes milk bones and soft treats and takes them gently. He is playful but not interested in toys. Knows sit, down and shake. He seems independent but does come up to you for attention and pets. 1/2/2020 ENRICHMENT chaperone stated dog is very gentle. He is treat motivated and very friendly with people. Apollo has been at the shelter longer than usual, and is now at risk to be euthanized very very soon.
