Poor Odessa was picked up as a stray and ended up at high-kill Riverside shelter in SoCal. She was probably out scavenging for food for her puppies, as it was clear from her shelter picture that she had just given birth-she was FULL of milk, and no babies to nurse! We can only hope her babies survived...she was very skinny (still needs to gain some weight), and scared/shy but very very sweet with people. She was kenneled with a few different female dogs, with no trouble at all, so she seems to be fine with other dogs. As best as the vet can tell, she has been used to breed several litters in her young 2 years, and confined most of her life in a kennel (raising those babies). She's done with that life-she is getting spayed next week (Jan 15), and microchipped so she never gets lost again, and a much-needed groom! Also a pedicure for this girl-her nails are so so long, a clear sign that she needs to have a family who will take her on long walks-something she has probably never had. Very sweet dog we are told from those helping to get her up to Oregon! Is she a good fit for your family?
