About Maverick

Meet Maverick!! He's an adorable puppy that was dumped off in an oil field in Texas. Luckily he was spotted by a passing car with kind people inside. He's been staying with a nice lady that adores him but can no longer keep him. Maverick is a 7 month old, male, border collie or possibly pointer mix. He is approx 60 pounds currently. He's a typical puppy. Full of love and energy. He is doing well with potty training, crate training and with leash walking. He does great on car rides and knows how to use a doggie door. He also will proudly wear sweaters and little doggie boots lol. Maverick has lived with other dogs previously but we've had trouble getting him to like most dogs he's met. To get along well it would need to be a very submissive dog. He also doesn't share treats and food well with other dogs, no issues sharing with people. He's also been great with kids but keep in mind puppies jump up, chew hands, and forget their size at times when running around. He's not yet been around cats. Maverick is a gentle natured dog. He jumps up often out of excitement but is very gentle about it. Every time he is verbally corrected he immediately sits and looks at you like he's sorry. He's really eager to please. He's very gentle on a leash so far. He's still young and with proper training and socializing he will blend well into any family. Maverick is very treat motivated which helps with training. He also recently learned to play fetch and he loves it! He is an active dog that needs someone willing to play with him and include him in family activities. A fenced yard is required due to his energy level. Maverick is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. He cracked one of his teeth and we will pay for the tooth repair/extraction to fix it.
