About Stella Adoption pendin

You can stop now, you've found the PERFECT dog! I cannot say enough about this girl��%BD��%BD%BD'��%BD��%BD%BD| Don't like dogs who lick people? Stella is for you! Don't want long dog hair everywhere? Look at her shiny SHORT hair coat! Need a dog that will go places in the car? This girl! Don't like dogs who bark all the time? I'm not sure I've ever heard her bark. Stella is not too big, and she's not too small, she is juuuuust right! Smart as a whip, a very fast learner! She can use a doggie door, is house trained and crate trained (leave her chew toys in the crate!), but would love, love, love it if her person would let her sleep in their bed with them (or had a child she could snuggle with at night!). She is the perfect size for snuggling - not so big that she weighs you down, but big enough that she'll keep you warm! She can go outside and play with kids - even younger ones, she is not rough at all! - or she is just as happy to be a lap dog. I have two large dogs (85+ lbs each) and horses, and she is not at all intimidated by them, but she is gentle and loving with my cats, and even the ducks in the yard. Stella is a 7/8 month old Doberman mix. she is spayed, HW negative and up to date on vaccinations. She weighs 30 to 35 pounds, her adoption fee is $95.00 and she must have a fenced yard for safety. Stella came to CVHS a little on the skinny side, so she doesn't like other animals getting close to her food. She growls if they get too close, but it has not gone further than that. I'm working with her on it and she's getting better. She also should not be free fed - given her skinny history, she will eat everything you put down. Everything. She just needs to fully trust that there will be another meal after this, and that will take time. Stella does have a tendency to jump up on me when I come home, and I would like to say I'm breaking her of that, but frankly I look at that face and can't help but laugh and give her a hug. I'll try to be better, but no promises! Most of my fosters have either been very active and would do better with an active person, or they would make better lap dogs. Miss Stella would be great at either or both of these jobs, she just wants to be with her person, no matter what they are doing. She truly can do it all!
