About Nymeria

My son brought her home as a puppy. She's shared our home with 2 different older male akita mixes. While they got along, she was the alpha. Although she has some pit in her, it's apparent she is mixed with boxer. She truly is the sweetest dog I've known and unusually strong; to the degree that she escapes from large wire dog crates. She is also a jumper & requires a fence at least 7 feet high. Nymeria is incredibly intelligent; yet, wants what she wants when she wants it, making it difficult to get her to mind. This is only a problem when indoors. That said, she is better off on land, where there is plenty of room for her to run & burn off her energy. Leashes are chew toys, not something to walk her with. She loves walking you, when on a leash. I tried for at least 12 months & had to quite because it was hurting my shoulder. I love her dearly, and can no longer keep her as I go through some health challenges. She loves her humans and when they are away, she can be destructive; hence, the crate which proved ineffective with her. She really deserves space and love; at this time, I only have the love.
