About Murphy

It's never an easy decision to rehome an animal but it's a decision that has to be made. I would love to find another home for him though, I believe in the right home he could be a great dog for someone. Murphy will be 3 years old on May 8th. He was originally purchased for service work but he failed and CANNOT be a service dog. But because of this, he has extensive experience in different environments and readily looks to his person for guidance. He is very confident in new environments and I have had no environmental issues with him. He has a good threshold with people in public but specifically does not like strangers touching him. He has NOT bitten anyone but he does get vocal. He will take food and treats from strangers but he is a greedy grabber. Murphy would do best in a home with either no other dogs or a female dog OF SIMILAR SIZE-he will chase small dogs. Cats are not a good fit for Murphy either because of his prey drive. Murphy is not aggressive towards people but I would say a home without children because he is around 70 pounds and ENERGETIC! He could EASILY knock over a small child. I would consider a working home for Murphy as well. He is extremely food driven and does like to use his nose. As hes gotten older he is very toy driven, and he tugs hard. I will be completely honest with any questions you have about him. He is not an easy dog to place and he is not a good fit for the majority of homes. He will have a place here until I find somewhere for him.
